Cancer
As you all know, there are many cancer types plaguing the human race. It will be difficult to discuss them individually due to their complexities. The common ones include breast, lung, prostate, colorectal, bladder, skin, leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, thyroid, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancers. When cancer does occur, a key to improving the cure rate is early detection. Knowing the warning signs for common cancers and performing regular self-exams and age/gender appropriate screenings are important. Avoid using tobacco products, include more fruits, vegetables, and fiber in your diet, limit alcohol intake, wear a SPF 30 or higher sunscreen as needed, and maintain physical activity and a healthy weight.
Be vigilant and proactive ! It could save your life. According to the National Foundation for Cancer Research, they fund the discovery of new technology that can be applied to the search for a cure for cancer including: Establishing advanced molecular imaging techniques with superior sensitivity to detect the tiniest tumors and building a much needed technology platform to isolate and treat patients' own cancer cells in the laboratory.
